I'm back from AnimeNext and, while it wasn't nice on my pocket, I met some awesome people (when I decided to talk >.< and had a lot of fun. I've already got plans in the works for next year and I'm hoping for a UArts presence. In the meantime, I'm going to work on getting to a few other cons this and next year.
In other news, I've made a new account, because I don't much care for the name of this one anymore. I am now ~sometimesusually. I'll be moving some things there in the coming days and weeks so feel free to go and devwatch it now. This gallery will still remain for as long as dA lets it survive.

I suck at properly preparing for a con. Just throwing that out there. I don't, however, suck at soliciting commissions out of unsuspecting, drunken former frat boys. Let's just see if he remembered in the morning. XD
In other news, if anyone happens to watch this journal and be headed to AnimeNext, I'll be doing art trades as well as sitting my tush in the artists' alley. Look for a goth punk lolita on Friday, either Amane Misa from DeathNote or a female Xaldin on Saturday, and the fairly normal looking punk-ish black chick surrounded by Asians on Sunday. My outfit schedule is subject to change up to and including Sunday. Because I am clearly indecisive.
On the thesis front, I know the sound I'll be looking for and need to find a composer willing to make my crazy vision come to life. Well, I should probably wait until I get it approved/ripped to tiny, tiny shreds for that. I've decided on designs for my characters. I know how and when everything happens. I have a good idea for the environments, which I totally need to sketch and research a little. I, really, just need to decide if I'm going to go ahead with the snatches of conversation in the background. Then I'll start working on a treatment and storyboard after ANext. I'm so many kinds of excited for this.
Well, I'm gonna sketch up some more fanart-y-goodness to peddle and go to bed so I can go shopping tomorrow.

So I'm not following my carefully laid out plan for con domination at all. I'm doing a lot of Kingdom Hearts stuff and kind of pushing everything else aside. I started this really nice looking Trio piece that I really want to finish off in time but OpenCanvas is seriously not cooperating. And I really like that program now! This is disappointing. If anyone can help me out, that'd be great. I'm gonna make sure the program works in general.
As for my thesis, I'm plugging away at it. I need to make a few design changes to the girl (who I am calling Ella for convenience) and figure out what the hell the setting looks like, then I can storyboard! I think I'll start doing some environment sketches until ANext and get to work on the storyboard/animatic and finding a composer afterwards. But yeah! I gots a plan!
Also, I need a job. Like, last week. T.T

Huzzah, my year is finished! Now time to focus on more important things, like con-going. I'm fairly certain I'll be at Wizard World, most likely on Saturday or Sunday, as a guest rather than a volunteer this year with ~pluckyantihero and possibly ~BatGraham and whatever other members of the UArts gang I can rustle up. That's June 16/17, and I hope to have a few X-Men finished and ready to show off by then. I won't have a table sadly. Or fortunately. Take yer pick.
Next, I'll be headed to AnimeNext with ~fongmingyun, =ProdigyBombay, Vinni, and some other people I've yet to meet. And possibly ~TheDispreputableDog. Happiness all around. Now! I need to decide what fanart prints I shall be concocting. I know I work fairly fast when bored (case in point: five X-Men sketched and one inked, two days), so quantity isn't too big a deal. I just don't know what to do. I know I'm doing a Vincent (FF7:AC) for Jon as a surprise gift once it's done. I don't know Bleach well enough to be comfortable doing fanart that's not a commission. D.Gray-Man is a possiblity, as I adore Komui, as is DeathNote and Kingdom Hearts. Maybe I'll do Tira or some SC3 characters... It's all up in the air. I'll, hopefully, get something figured out.
In other news, found both Guitar Heroes with controllers for $75 on craigslist. Considering it. Strongly. I've got favorite songs on both, so it'd be worth it. I might wait until after con season and see if someone else has it.
